Tattoo Ideas
While looking over tattoo ideas we come across this one which is an outline of sorts of a skull with a dagger stuck through it, sitting in a bed of roses. And it would seem to be an odd assortment of elements to be together in the same tattoo but they really are not. The daggers and swords can be found very commonly in military type tattoos and these are considered to be the last line of defense for a person. The knife when passed through the skull in the tattoo symbolizes a soldier going to fight for his land. In fact many soldiers during the bombing of Pearl Harbor were wearing such tattoos where the dagger skull in the tattoos went through an Asian man’s head. And this was to symbolize the Japanese soldier. And the flowers are meant to stand for victory or even a rebirth, which in essence is the same thing I suppose.
This all came as a surprise to me. I had always thought of the skull tattoo as one for bad boys, bikers and misfits and never really considered that it would have some other type or meaning. That just goes to prove that when you look at a tattoo design you never really know the meaning behind it.
