Koi Tattoo
Here is a sketch of a Koi tattoo that the artist has just drawn. Even though it’s hard to tell what the end result will be once it’s inked into the skin, this does give you a good starting point. And as you might have guessed I have a few comments that I would like to make on this Koi tattoo. The first thing that I would like to talk about is the position of the fish in the design. Usually, Koi tattoos depict the fish either in a stationary position or swimming lazily among elements such as cherry blossom flowers or water lilies. But, this Koi tattoo depicts the fish in a more active state. This fish is leaping from the waves. And the look on this fish’s face is one of pure determination. This is one fish that is going to get what it goes after!! Another thing that I like about this Koi tattoo is the single wave of water streaming out from behind the fish. Once again, people usually fill the whole design in with water, but this artist decided to take a minimalist approach to it. I can definitely see this design inked with plenty of reds and yellows and I think it is going to be a beautiful tattoo.

The Koi fish has always been seen as a symbol of perseverance and strength, and of independence. Water lilies have been said to be symbolic of rebirth. It is said that if a Koi fish pass a place called Dragon Gate on the Yellow river, it is reborn as a dragon, which is why this combination of designs is very precise. There are several bright colors used in this koi tattoo including green, yellow, orange, blue, and pink. The whole body of the coy is green, and every scale is intricate and detailed. The water is a light blue that splashes over the back of the koi fish, and seems to sparkle as it streams around the koi. The koi’s tail flows next to a group of pink lilies that have orange centers that glow brightly against the pink petals of the lily. There are orange tips on the fins of the koi, and a piece of grass falls lip over the face of the koi. This tattoo is intricately drawn and colored, and shaded perfectly. The symbolism behind this tattoo is has meaning and the colors that accompany this tattoo compliment it perfectly. This is an amazing tattoo and one that deserves to be inked upon your skin.
