Hearts Tattoos
A lot of people are familiar with heart tattoos. But, not too many people know what the sacred heart tattoo means or even what it is. The heart tattoo is the classic example of a sacred heart depiction. The Sacred Heart is one of the most easily recognized symbols of the Christianity, and represents the love of Jesus Christ for every man, woman and child. This heart tattoo appears as a heart in flames, pierced by a wound from a lance, and enclosed in a crown of thorns. The flames represent love and spiritual fervor. The crown represents Jesus as the King of Heaven and the bleeding is representative of the way in which Jesus died. If you remember the biblical story, a Roman spear was thrust into Jesus’ side and a crown of thorns placed upon his head. This heart tattoo is a pretty good depiction of the burning heart style. While it’s not a classic representation, it comes pretty close to capturing the essence of the design. If the bearer wanted to personalize this design to his personality, he could add many different elements, including a tribal element to it.

Here’s another whimsical collection of heart tattoos for all you ink lovers out there. Some of the designs are cute but most of them are rather perplexing to me. Take the heart tattoo on the upper right hand corner. A heart with a cigarette shoved through it. What’s that supposed to mean? I’m not exactly sure. Maybe the person is saying that they had a real love, or rather addiction I should say, for cigarettes but now they have quit. On the other hand it might have no meaning whatsoever. There are a few heart tattoos in this collection that I think are rather cool though. The first one I like is right in the center of the other heart tattoos. A hot rod heart design! That is pretty hot if you ask me. The other design that I like is the heart tattoo with a piercing through it. I know quite a lot of people who have gotten pierced and this would make a great design for their next ink project. Tell me, which of these heart tattoos do you like the most?
