Pictures Of Tattoos
pictures of tattoos
Well here we have a sheet of a bunch of pictures of tattoos. Mostly finished tattoos and all ones of some sort of elephant deity it would seem. I had no idea what this meant so I had to look it up and found that it is probably the Hindu God Ganesha, who appeared as what they explain was a beautiful woman with the head of an elephant. And to this day statues of such an elephant/woman goddess are still very prevalent in temples all over Southeast Asia. No offense meant but I would not call a woman with an elephant head anything close to attractive. I think I’ve even seen this girl once before, the last time I spent a year one night on Bourbon street in new Orleans. Depending on what you drink that can be a scary place to visit.

I have seen many thousands of pictures of tattoos in my time but this is the first time I have ever come across the elephant lady. It is not my favorite but I can certainly understand that someone who comes from that culture may want to get such a tattoo. And I am sure there are many very cool ones to choose from too. So, check out the pictures of tattoos for this one and see what they’ve got.

Here we have a grouping of pictures of tattoos. Tattoos that have been before. Tattoos that will be and tattoos that have not yet been realized. And as you can see these are all different styles of tribal tattoos. And all pretty nice tribal tattoos at that. I have to admit that I have rarely seen a tribal tattoo that I have not liked. I guess that style just appeals to me for some reason but I have no idea at all why that is. Maybe it is the hard lines and symmetrical styles that almost seem to represent some sort of order to me. I don’t really know but I like them.

When it comes to getting your own tattoo just make sure that you make up your mind for yourself. I have been to some tattoo parlors where they will really try hard to sell you on certain tattoos and that is, in my opinion, never the way to go. It absolutely must come from you. If it doesn’t come from you, one hundred percent, then I would say not to do it because at some point you will end up being sorry for it and that is not a good position to be in once you have a tattoo.

Tiger Tattoo

Why get a tiger tattoo? There are as many answers to that question as there are designs available. But, one of the most important is the symbolism behind these beast. In most Asian countries, the tiger is thought to be the "King of Beasts," and is seen as a symbol of pure and raw power. Tiger tattoos often present an illustrated version of these symbolic meanings. Many tiger tattoos are done in a realistic fashion, meaning they often look as though they have been drawn whilst watching the animal live and in its natural habitat. Other designs, though, appear in a woodblock mode. These tigers are highly stylized; their shapes are long and fluidic. They may also appear in several different stances; on the prowl, lounging in the sun, and they may even occasionally be shown in a more languid manner, such as sitting under a tree while licking a large paw clean. Tiger tattoos can depict the beast in nature. Not only can you create a portrait of a tiger in the wild, you can utilize the unique markings to combine it into its setting. One idea is to borrow from the flowing woodblock style and show the lines of the tiger as branches from a dark, or even burnt tree. You may also show the tiger melding in with the darkness of the night sky or brightness of a hot sun. The tiger tattoo in the picture is a beautiful representation of a naturalistic done tiger.

The tiger tattoo holds a very high position in Asian symbolism. Most often it is considered to show the aggressive or destructive force that is within each person. It holds equal status, in influence at least, to the dragon. Whereas dragon tattoos represent the higher sense of self and the attainment of good, tiger tattoos represent the dark forces that can be found within each person. The appearance of a dragon tattoo and tiger tattoo together can hold different meanings, depending on the position of the two symbols. If the dragon and the tiger tattoos are at an equal level, this often symbolizes balance and harmony. If the tiger tattoo is shown overpowering the dragon, this often means the triumph of self-interest and aggression. However, if the dragon tattoo is shown beating the tiger, this would signify a triumph against dark forces. Tiger tattoos are rich in meaning and symbolism even on their own. Where African and western regions hold the lion as the king of the animals, the tiger occupies the throne in Asia. This gives tiger tattoos the interpretation of power. After all, the tiger tattoo is a very symbolic design that features a very powerful and dramatic animal.

Hawaiian Flower Tattoos

Hawaiian Flower Tattoos
hawaiian flower tattoos
These version of the hawaiian flower tattoos looks very nice sitting on this girls shapely hip. It is a well thought out, well drawn and well executed piece of work done by a very competent artist. And I say that because the flower looks so very realistic. The meaning behind his particular flower is that of soft and delicate beauty. And it should be worn by a young lady full with grace and charm. In the olden days it may have been reserved for daughters of chiefs and the like only.

The Hawaiian flower tattoos have several meaning but all the means are only different when the flower the tattoo features is different. This flower I believe is the hibiscus, typically known as the more tropical flower of the bunch, and that’s where those meanings of beauty and delicacy come from. And we all know there’s nothing wrong with a girl trying to show off her own beauty and radiance. After all, that is what they do with or without tattoos so why not. If a girl can express even more grace and beauty by use of hawaiian flower tattoos then I say go for it.

While I consider it’s placement a little unusual, I find this Hawaiian flower tattoo design to be top notch. Many people nowadays are looking to get a Hawaiian flower tattoo so let me give you a few points to consider. When you are taking a look around for some excellent Hawaiian flower tattoo designs, you’ll find that you will have a great deal to think about when it comes to things like level of detail. When people think of flowers, they often find themselves thinking of bright and beautiful splashes of color such as the rose heart tattoos, you’ll certainly find that there are plenty of reasons to look at this. Think about how realistic you want your tattoos designs to be, and think about how well it will blend in with another tattoo or modifications that you might have. When you are considering getting a flower tattoo, you will also need to think about the fact that you want to consider color. Thankfully, when it comes to Hawaiian flower tattoo designs, you’ll find that you have no limit of bright colors to choose from. Hawaii is home to an enormous number of flowering plants, and whether you are interested in bright reds, vibrant yellows, or vivid purples, you’ll find that there is a good chance that you can locate it here.

Music Tattoos
music tattoos
One of the most popular music tattoos are musical notes. The treble clef is used most frequently; the beautiful curves make this a stylish design. The bass clef is also used, though less frequently. It is understandable why these two signs should be so common, as they indicate the pitch of any particular score, and set the undertone to every song. But, let’s face facts. Different people will pick different music tattoos. Some people will choose to have their favorite bands logo inked into their skin, while other people may choose a musical note like the one in the picture. A musician will often choose music tattoos that reflect their own part in the musical process such as their instrument (guitar, drums, etc.), or musical notes. Some will even go as far as to tattoo large areas of their body with sheet music of a song with personal importance to them. A music enthusiast may pick a similar style. However, it is not uncommon for them to express their appreciation of a favorite musician. Most bands use a font that is particular to them; this font can be used in a descriptive figure, such as the band’s logo or simply by tattooing the band’s name in an identical font.

This music tattoo is a really good example of tattoos used to show what someone loves to do, or has a passion for. This tattoo is more of a feminine tattoo, because of the colors and the overall design of the tattoo, and the shades of the colors used. This tattoo incorporates different shades of pink and purple, along with black and hues white. The music notes are black, with white edges, which emphasizes the shape and texture of the musical notes. The background is one huge music note, surrounded by smaller stars and a border. The entire background is a mix of pink and purple, and the lighter colors really bring out the darkness of the musical notes. The color mix of black, white, purple, and pink in a tattoo like this tattoo is uncommonly used, but the idea of a musical note tattoo is not. This tattoo is unique because of its mixture of colors, shapes, and shading, and the hidden musical note in the background. This type of tattoo is one of the perfect ways to express your love or interest in something. It is also a good way to support something you love.

Wings Tattoo

Wings Tattoo
wings tattoo
The wing tattoo depicted in the picture is indicative of an angel motif. An angel tattoo design is an overtly religious symbol while the angel wings by themselves may not necessarily be so. An angel is a symbol of devotion, spirituality and faith and signifies a strong relationship with God or the divine. Angels personify divine will and are the messengers of God. As tattoos, the angel wing design is often infused with inspirational or spiritual significance to the wearer. Angel wings in particular are often used as the centerpiece of a tattoo that is intended as a memorial to someone that the wearer has a close personal relationship or someone who has since died. The most common place for a wing tattoo to be placed is either above the heart, or more commonly on the back. That’s because wings on angels are always on their backs. While eagle wings often symbolize power and speed especially as it’s concerned with physical activity, angel wing tattoos are almost always a softer approach to the entire motif. While it’s not as popular as some other designs such as tribal or stars, wing tattoos are starting to gain in popularity.

Wings Tattoo
wings tattoo
The wing tattoo portrayed in the picture is one that often symbolizes a strong desire toward inner spirituality or the need for inner peace. Similar to angel wings because of the plumage, those who have bird wings on their backs are quick to point out the difference. These are generally people who celebrate spiritualism and the unknown powers of Mother Nature as tattoos. The wing design is often infused with inspirational or spiritual significance,as in the angel motif for instance, which is a symbol of guidance and protection. For those who dream of soaring the skies like a bird, the wing symbol takes on the feathery aspect of a bird. As a tattoo design it can reflect the power of the eagle or the lightness of the butterfly. In the ancient world, wings represented power and speed. Many statues and images from ancient civilizations depicted an animal, such as a lion or horse, sporting wings. The gods were sometimes "winged" as well, symbolizing their power to fly through the air. The Greek God Hermes had wings at his ankles, as did the Roman God, Mercury. Over the centuries, many of the ancient wing symbols were incorporated into modern cultures and religions.

Stars Tattoos
stars tattoos
Here is yet another entry in the category of stars tattoos. This one being a star field moving across a girls foot. A star field which has movement trails at the back end of all the stars as if it were really moving quickly. Many people like to say that star tattoos of all kinds symbolize that the person wearing them, in one way or the other, sees themselves as a star or sees themselves attaining such greatness at some time in the future. Much like a goal that has yet to be realized.

Of course star tattoos can stand for more than that and I am just as certain that for some people they stand for much less. The last time I asked a girl why she had a star tattoo she just said because she like stars. Nothing else. That was all she cared about. And in truth that is all that matters. After all, she’s the one who went out and got that particular star tattoo so it only matters what she thinks about that tattoo and she cares not what other people think. Now, that’s a smart girl.

Henna Tattoos

Henna Tattoos
henna tattoos
Over the past several years henna tattoos have become all the rage through out the Unites States. A henna tattoo is a temporary tattoo that usually washes away in a matter of days, a few weeks at the most. It is not actually done with needles in the skin, but is basically just an ink drawing put onto the body. The reason these henna tattoos are so popular is obvious. Because a person can get one or more for a laugh and they don’t have to live with it for the rest of their lives.

The one very good thing about henna tattoos, in my opinion, is that it gives everyone the opportunity to see what it feels like to have a tattoo on them for a few days. To see how they like it and to see how others react to it. It’s a good way of testing the waters without yet jumping in without a life jacket. Some will say it’s the cowards way of getting a tattoo and there may be some truth to that. But I think if it helps people decide if they really want to get a real one or not, then it has to be a good thing.

Henna Tattoos
henna tattoos
The thing about henna tattoos is that it takes only a normal artist to do. Someone trained in the whole needles thing is not necessary because it is not a real tattoo but merely a temporary one. That does not mean that it doesn’t take talent to do, just that is has to be a whole lot easier to find generally skilled artists then it is to find the well skilled and experienced tattoo artists.

The word henna means a tint or a dye. And I guess that is how these henna tattoos got their name. Though there is nothing in that meaning that talks about it being only temporary. And of course they are all just temporary. Now, this particular henna tattoo is one that did not take that much skill to put on. It looks sort of like some half decent artist followed a pattern to do it and did not even follow the pattern all that well. The lines and edges are simply not nearly as sharp as they should be. Just look at it and you will see what I mean. As far as henna tattoos goes I would not consider this one a very good example.

Sun Tattoos
sun tattoos
When it comes to sun tattoos it is somewhat obvious why these tattoos are popular. After all the sun is universally known as a giver of life and that alone gives way to many meanings that can be attached to sun tattoos. Sun tattoos can be drawn in a great variety of styles and to be honest, even though I have seen thousands of sun tattoos, this is the first time I have seen one with an eagle in the center of it and I cannot be sure what the meaning behind that is.

Perhaps having the eagle in the center of the sun has something to do with adding some power and grace of movement to the already known meanings of the sun. Such as saying that the sun is a powerful giver of life. There’s no way to be sure without talking to the person who did it or who has it. But I have to admit that I do like this tattoo. It is very well done and the silhouette of the clutching eagle in its center is very intriguing indeed. While this tattoo is a bit tribal in appearance I am not at all certain that is what it is meant to be.

Sun Tattoos

The sun tattoo is reflection of the Sun’s profound symbolic nature in most cultures around the world. The sun was worshipped as a personified, life-giving deity in Babylonian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and almost every other major civilizations of history. The most common symbol of the sun is a circle with the sun’s rays emanating from the perimeter. A dot or point in the center of a circle symbolizes the blending of male and female forces. The sun is usually seen as a masculine symbol and the moon and the earth as feminine symbols, hence you will often the Sun symbolically paired with the Moon or the Earth. For many millennia the Sun was believed to be at the center of the Universe, around which all other heavenly bodies radiated. The Sun was a symbol of both royal and divine powers, adopted by both secular and religious authorities. As a tattoo design and symbol, a Sun represents fertility, vitality, passion, courage and eternally renewed youth, light and knowledge. The Sun tattoo is such a pervasive symbol that many other tattoo symbols have a direct relation to it. The Sun was represented by the following; an Eagle, an Eagle with a Serpent, a Dragon, a falcon , phoenix, swan, lion, ram and bull.

Swallow Tattoo
swallow tattoo
Swallow tattoos are a popular design that can have many different meanings all over the world. For a sailor the swallow tattoo was widely known as a status symbol. The swallow tattoos were meant to protect the sailor on their journey yet, others believed that if a sailor died at sea and had a swallow tattoo on their chest that it would fly their spirit to heaven. For this reason, swallow tattoos were a great comfort to sailors. The first swallow tattoo meant the sailor had traveled 5,000 miles and the second tattoo meant they had traveled 10,000 miles. Swallow tattoos are also a symbol of working-class pride, mostly in the UK. Swallow tattoos are also at times used in prison as a sign for "white power", a gang tattoo at times. Then again some freed prisoners get the swallow tattoo as a sign of freedom. Interestingly, both good luck and bad are attributed to the swallow. Some legends warn of a swallow flying through the house, since it brings tidings of displeasure from the gods, and likely foreshadows bad luck. In China it symbolizes daring, danger and a change for good in the future. But, when you come down to it only you can determine the meaning of your swallow tattoo.

Swallow Tattoo
swallow tattoo
Swallow tattoos are rich with history and symbolism all over the world. For thousands of people over the centuries, the little bird can be linked to health, wealth, loyalty, and the rigors of long distance travel, especially at sea. A symbol of hope for the return home, of loyalty to one’s family and home, of freedom, the swallow is a beautiful choice for a tattoo, whether or not you plan on spending your days out at sea. The swallow, as well as bluebirds and sparrows, has always had a symbolic meaning for sailors because, before modern navigation technology, these birds were usually the first sign that land was near. Another fact is that swallows return home every year, no matter where they are, thus symbolizing a safe journey home. But, one of the most impressive meanings of the swallow tattoo is fidelity. The swallow is a bird that chooses a mate for life. So, it’s only natural that it not only symbolizes a persons soul mate but also loyalty to the family. But, keep in mind tattoos mean different things to different people. Only you can decide how to explain the meaning behind your skin art, each has his or her own unique symbolic interpretation.

Lion Tattoo

We are all familiar with lion tattoos. I think that most people have seen these tattoos either online or on an actual persons skin. But, not a whole lot of people are familiar with the symbolic meaning that these beast hold. So, let’s take a moment and take a look at the symbolism behind lion tattoos. Lions represent a whole host of traits which include strength, nobility and determination of spirit. But, lion tattoos can also represent courage, personal intensity and conquest. Of course with any animal that has a strong symbolic nature there are also some negative traits associated with the lion. These include vanity, pride and savagery. Also, the lion tattoo can have a religious meaning as well. It has come to symbolize Jesus Christ in almost every form of Christianity. And this is especially true when combined with a crucifix or crown tattoo. But, no matter what meaning you associate with the lion tattoo, it’s a design choice that identifies you as king of the jungle. And hopefully other people will view your new tattoo in that light as well. Now, who wouldn’t want a design like as a new tattoo addition or to complement an already established tattoo collection?

Lion Tattoo

The lion tattoo in the picture is an impressive example of what can be done with a little ink and the portrayal of these majestic beast. But, lion tattoos aren’t just beautiful, they also have a deep symbolism behind them. A lion symbolizes pride and nobility. It signifies power and strength. If you wish to get lion tattoos, here are some tips you need to follow. Check for lion tattoos patterns and designs at your local tattoo shops and talk to a few of the artist. They can be an invaluable resource for getting ideas about where you want to go with your design. If you can’t make up your mind because everything is beautiful and artistically designed then you need to choose your top 3 best lion tattoo designs. Ask your family and friends to look at the designs and let them vote for the pattern that suits your personality and style. Depending on which part of your body you wish for the lion pattern to be tattooed, the design can be altered to change in size. If you plan to have a lion on your back then the design can be extremely intricate and big. If you plan to have the lion on your neck or leg, the design may be reduced in size. Once you have completed all these steps then get ready to have your lion tattoo inked into your skin. Then you can enjoy it for a lifetime.
